Aloe vera farms tours Fuerteventura

Corralejo Guide 5 min read Updated Aug 2026

Fuerteventura's volcanic soil and dry climate make it Europe's aloe vera capital. Visit a farm, see processing, buy direct.

Why Fuerteventura aloe is famous

Volcanic soil + 300 sunny days + low rainfall = high concentration aloin and polysaccharides. EU certifies Fuerteventura aloe as among the world's best. Most cosmetics use it as base.

Best farms to visit

1) Aloevera Bio Fuerteventura (Tiscamanita): free tour, €5 tasting, online shop. 2) Aloe Vera Tienda Fuerteventura (Tarajalejo): factory visit, buy direct. 3) Cofete Aloe (south, more remote): smaller, organic certified.

What to buy

Pure aloe gel (refrigerated, 6 months shelf): €8-12 / 200ml. Aloe + propolis: €15. Aloe + cucumber: €12. Aloe shampoo: €9. Aloe sunburn relief: €10. Avoid 'aloe vera water' — mostly water with aloin.

Tour timing

Free guided tours daily 10:00-15:00 most farms. Book online or just walk in (small farms). 45 min duration. Spanish + some English. Wear closed shoes — uneven ground.

Find your stay in Corralejo

Live availability on Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com. Free cancellation on most stays.

Was du auf Lobos tun kannst

Was du mitnehmen solltest?

Snorkeling and Diving in Corralejo: Where to Go

Activities · 5 min read

Beneath the Atlantic

Volcanic reefs, turquoise lagoons, the cleanest visibility in the Canary Islands. Where to snorkel for free and where to dive with a guide.

Activities 5 min read Updated May 2026

Fuerteventura's north coast has some of the best snorkeling in the Canaries — volcanic rock formations creating natural pools, abundant fish life, water visibility often above 20 meters. Diving is run from Corralejo harbor with several operators going daily to Lobos Island sites.

Best free snorkel spots

Lobos Island lagoons (boat needed but the water is worth it). Muelle Chico right in town — calm, fish around the harbor walls. Playa de los Charcos north of town — tidal pools full of small fish at low tide.

Where to dive

Dive operators in Corralejo run boat trips to Lobos sites: El Veril (volcanic wall, 5–30 m), Los Pajeros (cave dives), La Pared (drop-off, sometimes manta sightings). 2-tank boat dive €70–90 with gear.

Beginner courses

Open Water certification €380–450 over 3–4 days. Try-dive without certification €70–90 for a half-day in shallow water. Reputable operators: Dive Center Corralejo, Punta Amanay, Aqua Dive.

What you'll see

Parrotfish, damselfish, octopuses, rays in shallow water. Mantas and angel sharks in deeper sites during cold months. Whales offshore in spring (boat tour required to spot them).

Stay near the dive boats

Old Town apartments within 5 minutes of the harbor.

Stargazing Near Corralejo: Best Spots for Dark Skies

Niche · 5 min read

Under the stars

Fuerteventura has some of Europe's darkest skies. Where to drive, what to bring, when to go.

Niche 5 min read Updated May 2026

The Canary Islands are protected as a Starlight Reserve — almost no light pollution, dry desert air, low latitude bringing southern constellations into view. Fuerteventura is the second-best of the islands for stargazing (after La Palma), and Corralejo is a 30-minute drive from real darkness.

Best stargazing locations

Tindaya area (30 min south of Corralejo) — total darkness, the sacred mountain horizon. El Cotillo north of town — beach + sky, sea horizon adds to the view. Lajares hilltops — easy access, occasional cars. Avoid the dunes for stargazing — too close to Corralejo town lights.

What you'll see

Naked-eye: full Milky Way arc on moonless nights, Orion in winter, Scorpius in summer, the Southern Cross brushes the horizon in spring (a treat for European observers). With binoculars: nebulas, star clusters, Jupiter's moons.

When to go

New moon weeks are best (check moon phase calendar). Late evening: 2 hours after sunset until 1–2am. Winter (Nov–Feb) has the clearest air. Summer Milky Way is more dramatic but air is hazier.

Guided tours vs DIY

DIY is fine if you have a car and a basic stargazing app (Star Walk, SkySafari). Guided tours by local astronomers (€40–60) include telescopes, photo support, hot chocolate. Stars by Night and Astro Eyes run regular tours from Corralejo.
