Best time to visit Corralejo
Month-by-month weather, crowds and prices in Fuerteventura's most popular town.
Corralejo is a year-round destination — it rarely drops below 18°C even in January, which makes it the most popular winter-sun spot for UK and German visitors. But the right month for you depends on what you want to do: surf, kitesurf, beach lounge, or just escape winter.
The short answer
- Best weather + lowest prices: October–early November and March–April
- Best for winter escape: December–February (UK/German peak)
- Best for kitesurfing: May–August (strongest trade winds)
- Most crowded: Christmas/New Year and July–August
- Avoid: nothing — every month has something going for it
Month by month
January & February — peak winter sun
18–22°C, mostly sunny, 5–7 hours of sun daily. Sea is 18°C (chilly but doable with a 4/3mm wetsuit). UK and German visitors are everywhere — the harbor restaurants are full at lunch. Hotels are pricier than autumn.
Good for: escaping European winter, beach walking, surfing with a wetsuit. Bad for: swimming without a suit, hoping for empty beaches.
March & April — the sweet spot
20–24°C, very sunny, sea warms to 19°C. Crowds thin out after Easter holidays. Often the best balance of price and conditions.
May & June — wind season starts
23–26°C and the trade winds (alisios) start blowing reliably. Kitesurfers arrive. Beach conditions become more "wind blown" — still gorgeous but bring a windbreak.
July & August — busiest, hottest
26–29°C, very hot in the middle of the day, but strong trade winds make it bearable. Spanish families arrive. Book accommodation 8+ weeks ahead. Lobos Island ferries sell out daily.
September — locals' favorite
27°C, sea warmest at 23°C. Crowds drop after the first week. If we had to pick one month, this is it.
October & November — the second sweet spot
23–25°C, sea still 22°C, very low crowds outside Halloween week. Apartment prices often 30% cheaper than peak. Ideal for digital nomads booking 2+ weeks.
December — winter sun begins
20–22°C, sea 19°C. Crowds build through the month, peaking at Christmas/New Year. Book early or wait until January 8.
