Costa del Sol gets cool and rainy in December. Corralejo doesn't. The Canary Islands sit on the same latitude as Florida and the western Sahara — winter highs of 20–22°C, 5–7 hours of sun every day, sea around 19°C. It's why 40% of arrivals to La Oliva (the municipality) come November to March.

Who comes in winter

UK retirees, German digital nomads, Dutch families on Christmas break, Scandinavian sun-seekers. Less of a Spanish domestic crowd — Spanish visitors prefer summer. The vibe is calm and international.

What you can still do

Beach is comfortable in a 3/2mm wetsuit for surf. Lobos Island boat trips run all year. Dunes safari at sunset is magic. Kite season is moderate (better in summer). Restaurants and bars all open. Acua Water Park closes Nov–Feb.

Aim for January or February — January has the best deals after the New Year peak. December 23–January 6 is the most expensive 2 weeks of the year. October–November and March are the secret bargain months: prices are 30% lower with the same weather as deep winter.
