Easter in Corralejo

Spanish families arrive en masse. Weather is perfect. Prices peak. Here's how to plan around it.

Seasonal 4 min read Updated May 2026

Easter (Semana Santa) is Spain's spring break — Spanish families pour into the Canaries for a week of guaranteed sun. Corralejo doubles in population. Booking strategy matters more than usual.

When exactly

Easter dates change yearly. 2026: April 5 Easter Sunday, peak week is March 30 – April 6. 2027: March 28. Plan around school holidays of your country plus Spanish Semana Santa for the absolute peak.

Weather

Air 19–24°C, sea 19°C. Sun 8 hours daily. Almost no rain. This is genuinely the best weather of the year — warmer than winter, less wind than summer.

Crowds and prices

Hotels run 95%+ occupancy. Prices 40–80% above October baseline. Restaurants need reservations (especially Friday and Saturday). The dunes are still big enough to absorb everyone — beaches feel full but not crowded.

How to handle it

If you can flex dates: the week BEFORE Easter (Palm Sunday week) is much quieter and same weather. The week AFTER Easter prices drop 30% overnight. If you must travel Holy Week: book 4–5 months ahead, pre-book restaurants, take direct flights.
