The best beaches in Corralejo
From the world-famous dunes to hidden coves only locals know — 10 beaches ranked.
In 2025 National Geographic named Corralejo Beach the world's best. But Corralejo has more than one beach — and the right pick depends on whether you want crowds, calm water, surf, or solitude.
The town beaches: walk from the harbor
Playa Chica is the small protected cove right in town — calm water, sand bottom, good for kids and snorkeling. Muelle Chico next to it is where locals jump from the rocks. Both are 2 minutes from the main square.
The Dunas beaches: where the postcard photos come from
Starting 3 km south of town: Playa del Moro, Playa del Pozo, Playa del Bajo Negro, Grandes Playas. 10.5 km of golden dunes meeting Atlantic. Bring a windbreak — the trade winds here are constant.
The surf beaches: north of town
Flag Beach is the famous one for kitesurf and beginner surf. El Hierro and Bristol have bigger waves for intermediate surfers.
Hidden picks
Playa de la Concha on Lobos Island (boat needed) is arguably the most beautiful. Majanicho beach has wild atmosphere and few visitors. Playa de los Charcos is a tidal pool wonderland 4 km north.
